Morton Chamber of Commerce Hosts Senator Brady

Leigh Ann Brown and the Chamber's Government Affairs committee hosted Illinois Senator Brady at Freedom Hall to share legislative updates along with briefings on upcoming bills impacting business, health, education and infrastructure.

Senator Brady is on the Insurance Committee, the Gaming Committee, and the Energy & Transportation Committee. The Senator discussed the State Democrat's aggressive lack of cooperation with Governor Rauner. He pointed out that the State is spending $6 billion a year more than they take in. On the positive side, he discussed our State's ideal geographic location and our good transportation system - which reminded me how ideally Morton is situated right at the corner of I74 and I155, not to mention that Tazewell has the lowest property taxes in the State. Also presenting was the Illinois Chamber's Tyler Diers who discussed many bills that do not bode well for attracting businesses to Illinois. We have to elect more Republicans to Springfield to save the State!
