Don't Blame the Chinese

I have done a lot of business in China. The first thing you learn is that contracts are viewed differently in China. In the US "a deal is a deal" but in China anyone who honors a contract that isn't benefiting them is considered an idiot. They aren't dishonest, that's just how they view things. When Trump actually pushed back economically, they felt the necessity to eliminate him; nothing personal, he was just interfering with their plans. Lucky for the Chinese and unlucky for the US, there were plenty of US officials willing to help dispose of Trump. Don't blame the Chinese, it was only business but concerning the many US officials that aided them, the word traitor comes to mind. Lucky for those officials, being a traitor ceased to be a crime in the US some time ago. It is also important to know that China plans 100 years in advance while the US plans about 90 days in advance. I once asked a friend of my from Beijing if he thought the French Revolution had influenced the Chinese and he said, "too soon to tell."
